The orchestra also participates in programs designed to inculcate an appreciation for such music among people of all ages, including students at public and private schools. Approach to Concert Planning
HCCO’s approach to concert planning is to provide Howard County and the region with music of consequential community interest such as an annual celebration of a different nationality and culture in our New Year’s concerts, concerts devoted to important historical and socially significant events, and concerts highlighting the talents of area professionals and our talented youth. The goal is to provide a range of music spanning the Baroque era up to the present, including the promotion and performance of new music by living composers. Through our partnerships with other arts organizations, we plan to provide a unique mix of music, dance, and theater.
The Howard County Concert Orchestra (HCCO) has a small traveling ensemble that will come to your school and provide music learning journeys for your students. The professional musicians of HCCO use their expertise to guide and improve the quality of education to those in music classes and in partnership with the Howard County School System. We provide consistent educational outreach to the county’s school population assisting and bolstering established music programs in the schools, building new ones as the need arises, and providing performance opportunities to our talented youth from this county.
